Many people are asking the question of how to wash and do without getting frizzy hair for curly hair. It seems nearly impossible. But it is not, and there are a few tips that I, being a curly girl myself, find are quite effective.
The biggest hing curly hair needs to avoid frizziness is moisture. Must curly girls have extremely dry hair, and this is one of the main causes of disaster. These steps all work to achieve that one main goal: moisturize.
The first thing to consider when attempting to de-friz your hair is to throw away the shampoo bottle. This may seem radical at first, but by replacing it with a sulfate-free cleanser, you will still be able to thoroughly clean your hair without drying it out with regular shampoo. Sulfate-free cleansers are available at almost any hair salon or health food store.
Secondly, it is important to moisturize your hair by not rinsing out all of your conditioner. In the shower, apply a very generous amount throughout the locks and then allow it to soak for a couple of minutes like usual. But, when it comes time to rinse it out, don’t rinse it all the way out. Simply take a couple handfuls of water and run it over your head. Some of the conditioner does need to come out to avoid it looking greasy, but some of it should stay in.
Perhaps the most important step to avoid friz is the drying step. Instead of using a regular towel, use a microfiber cloth or paper towel. This dries the hair without fuzzing it, and also leaves some of the much-needed moisture in the hair. Lastly, while your hair is still very wet, apply a quarter-sized amount of gel to the hair. Allow to dry, or dry with a diffuser.
These simple steps will do alot to make curly hair less frizzy. It may take a few times of following the procedure to regain moisture in your hair, but once your hair is happily moisturized, the results are sure to be pleasing.
