Finally, your hair has grown a little bit and you want to do some styles. Getting wavy hair with your natural kinky hair without heat is not that hard. You can also achieve these hairstyles with relaxed hair.  Three great ways to stretch your coily hair out with waves include: The Twist Out, The Braid Out, and Bantu Knots.

For all these styles mentioned, please remember that your hair has to be damp or moist to begin with. So you either have to wash/conditioner your hair, have a spray bottle with water in had with your favorite moisturizer, or use a leave-in conditioner.

*Tip: The best time frame to do it is at night before you go to bed so the style can set in. You will take it out in the morning and you will see the results. The longer the twist, braid, or knots stay in the better the definition of the wave.*

The Twist Out

The Twist Out is basically twisting your natural hair in small sections while your hair is damp. The smaller the twist the tighter the waves, the larger the twists, the larger the waves.

How to Do it: Take two pieces of your hair in a small section and twist it around each other.

One of my favorite Youtubers Naptural85 shows how she does her twist in her 4a hair for beautiful results.

The Braid Out

The Braid Out is similar to the twist out, but instead of twisting you are braiding. Again, the smaller the braid, the tighter the waves, the larger the braid, the looser the braids.

How to do it: Separate your hair into sections and braid it at night. Take it out in the morning and you will see the waves.

Popular natural Youtuber Nikkimae2003 displays her version of The Braid Out.

The Bantu Knot Out

Bantu Knots are little buns twisted around your hair in to small sections. You can wear as a style for a few days then take them out resulting in really cool waves.

Youtuber Taren Guy a.k.a taren916 knows a think or two about these bantu knot outs. By far, her way is the best way to get incredible results.
