Our first lady’s story is one of the most beautiful stories of Black Love there is. Mrs. Obama is the perfect example of “standing by your man” & believing in the unachievable. Born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, she is not only our First Lady, she is our style icon. On a typical day, Mrs. Obama is a mother, an advocate for various causes, & a wife. Balancing those tasks & remaining stylish is no easy feat, but as we know, The Obama’s have no problem achieving the impossible.
Believe it or not this is Mrs. Obama. As we can see this was not her best hair day. The uneven afro was probably the result of hair that was curled & attacked by a moist condition that caused it to poof & swell. Our Vissa Divas know that tourmaline irons & aerosol sheen sprays are the keys to never having a hair day like this. Right?
A little later in her hair career, our girl Michelle wised up. Let’s ignore the glasses for a second & focus on her coif. Michelle’s hair has a deliciously healthy sheen & vivacity to it. It looks to have been curled with a 1 inch iron away from the face & finger tousled. You go girl! Oh, Hello President Obama!
As we see, The First Lady is a social chameleon. As her work regimen changes, ever so slightly, her hair does also. Mrs. Obama is a fan of the side swept bang & a shoulder length cut. If her hair is not in a lovely up do, she wears it hanging with a flipped or tucked base. The crown is tousled ever so slightly, increasing the volume of her style & framing her face. Our Natural Divas will be happy to know that Michelle’s gorgeous mane is also RELAXER FREE. Michelle washes & conditions with Frederic Fekkai products & then blow dries on low heat with a paddle brush. Following that, her hair is styled with a FHI Iron & then styled to perfection. The Phyto products (seen below) assist her mane in all of its glory. Ladies, Ladies, let us take notes from our First Lady. Take care of your hair & it will take care of you.
