I think it’s safe to say that Beyoncé Knowles has the music industry in the palm of her hand. With a booming career, a beautiful, coveted family life and many more accomplishments. Mrs. Carter is certainly a trend setter in her own right. Why wouldn’t a young woman want to emulate the fashionable, successful songstress? Beyoncé has been rocking a signature hair look for some time now:

The “messy but cute” look

I have noticed that she is constantly spotted with unkempt hair. For some reason it just works for her. If it works for Beyoncé, why can’t it work for us?

By now, I’m sure we all know that Queen Bey is a connoisseur of all different types of wigs and weaves. Undoubtedly, this is not her natural hair, but that is beside the point. I think messy style is achievable and wearable with natural hair and weaves alike. Hair is not meant to be laid all the time, its ok if there is a messiness to your look . I said messy not sloppy! Whether your hair is super straight, kinky, curly or whatever, there is a way to make your hair look  Drunk in Love. You all get the point.

How To Get The Beyonce Messy Look

Warning: This only works for Wavy Hair (Type 2 or 3). Another option includes getting a weave or wig.

I have found the cutest messy hairstyles come from just shaking my hair or weave that is moist back to front or side to side,  trusting that it will land ever so beautifully.

Or follow this example of how to create a Beyoncé inspired messy, curled look:

As you can see, neat and tidy curls are converted into a messy style simply by playing with and manipulating the hair to the desired messy style. So, the next time you want to slick those fly-away strands down or put your hair in a bun because it’s not behaving, be brave and ask yourself: What Would Beyoncé Do?
