Beverly Johnson (born October 13,1952) is an American model, actress & businesswoman. In 1974 she made history when she became the first black woman to be featured on the cover of Vogue.

Tyra Banks & Naomi Campbell owe dues to her, as she paved the way for black women in fashion worldwide. Miss Johnson has also been on TV as a celebrity judge on a reality modeling show as well as in movies such as Meteor Man(1993), How To Be a Player (1997) & TV shows The Parent Hood, Superman & Law & Order.

Soon after she wrote her book, Beverly Johnson’s Guide To a Life of Health & Beauty.

She eventually partnered with Amekor to form the Beverly Johnson Hair Collection, a popular line of wigs & hair products for the ethnic hair market. In 2010 she introduced her restorative & hair styling hair care products to Target which feature relaxing mousses, conditioning pomades, anti-breakage serums & conditioning treatments made specifically for African-American hair.

As of June 2011, the Beverly Johnson wig collection is now the Vivica Fox Wig Collection.  The reasons are not in the public, but she is currently selling wigs under her previous production as well as a line of skin and beauty products.

This is good info about Beverly Johnson wigs. My girlfriend actually got me interested in lace wigs. She would sometimes get weaves and extensions which made her look great. But with the lace wigs she looks like a totally different person. Which keeps things interesting if you know what I mean. She don’t mind if I surf the net looking at the pics and youtube vids of girls modeling lace wigs. Now she wants to experiment with more lace front wigs for black women styles. I get to choose one I like on her.
