Mixing baking soda with apple cider vinegar (ACV) are the basic ingredients that cause 5th grade volcano science projects to erupt, but it can also actually bring back the light and bounty texture of your hair as well as cleanse your scalp. Basically, kind of like refreshing everything.

This DIY home mixture removes all the build up and stuff that weighs down the hair and completely clarifies it. The baking soda and ACV can also end scalp itching for women wearing locs, twist, or braids.

A suggestion includes cleaning out your hair and start fresh every 6 weeks or when your hair feels heavy and needs to rejuvenate or if your scalp continues to itch.

What to Do

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1 cup of warm water to create a light paste.
  • Use your finger tips or a toothbrush to massage the scalp and lightly throughout your hair.
  • Wash out with lukewarm water.
  • Condition afterwards.
Tip: There are many ways to create your own mixture. But, stated above are the basics.
This video below  is another unique way to rid build up on a TWA by Youtuber Happydimples39. She added the ingredients to her own liking in a larger bowl and dipped her head it. You can actually see the residue in the bowl after she takes her head out. Wow.
