Good Hair – Bad Hair
Overstating the meaning why women wear weaves
As I watch the Trailers for Good Hair the Movie by Chris Rock, I could not stop laughing. Hair is a huge issue amongst women of Color.
One might ask, why wear your own hair? This is a conversation that can last for days without an accurate answer or conclusion. I am an advocate of weaves, wigs, extensions, etc for over 10 years. I believe I tried everything hairstyle in a book since I was 12 years old.
But, the truth is, I am not a true fan of my own hair and I like extensions. Call it what you want. I have too much of it and I cannot maintain. I no longer put a perm in my hair. I just prefer to braid it and sew in a weave. But, who cares, that is my style. We have so much more to worry about in life then “hairstology”.
I do understand the issues that colored women face with valuing who you are and looking different, the history, and now the Asians run, etc. Let’s invest out time towards economically helping people to pay their rent then their hair.
I can’t wait to watch this movie; hopefully I will be educated and entertained. But, I don’t think this matter should be talked and talked about without anyone doing anything about it.
So, the aftermath >>>
I recently watch the movie Good Hair, and I have to say I was entertained and almost every single point was touched upon. I think this movie was very informative.
It is a must watch
